Want to be cool? Want to be popular? Want to get the girl of your dreams? You need to be more chill. The plot of Be More Chill is extraordinary. The action takes place in the USA, at a typical high school where some kids are popular but most are either bullied or ignored. Against this landscape Jeremy Heere, a high school junior who always seems to be the odd one out and is desperate to fit in, falls hard for Christine Canigula, another socially-invisible pupil. When she signs up for the school play in an attempt to get noticed, things get interesting. The resulting show's so good there's a movie version in the pipeline.
How come the school bully Rich Goranski is so popular? And how come Jake Dillinger is so cool, flirting so masterfully with Christine? When Jeremy finds out that the source of all this cool is a pill called Squip, he gives it a go and the girls soon come running. The supercomputer installed in Jeremy’s brain by Squip tells him what to do and what to say and he is finally, magically 'cool'. But will the strange voices inside Jeremy’s head help him stay chilled and win the girl of his dreams? Or will they cause the system to crash? Find out for summer 2021 with a dazzling 10 week run at the West End's Shaftesbury Theatre. Enjoy!
